What to bring for a successful charter trip
Planning a day of fishing on Lake Superior with Sand Point Charters? A little prep goes a long way toward a comfortable and successful trip. First, dress in layers. Lake Superior weather can be quite different than on shore and can shift quickly, so bring a warm jacket and hat. We recommend sunglasses too, to protect your eyes from the sun’s glare on the water.
Don’t forget a valid Michigan fishing license if you are 17 or older to be legal on the water. While all fishing equipment is provided, a small backpack with personal items like sunscreen, motion sickness tablets, and snacks is recommended. No alcohol please. Pack a camera or smartphone — whether you’re trolling or jigging for lake trout, or reeling in a big salmon, you’ll want to capture the moment. Lastly, wear non-slip shoes for safety on deck.
With the right gear, you’re set for an unforgettable day of lake trout fishing and breathtaking views on Lake Superior. Ready to cast off? Sand Point Charters has the rest covered.
