Spring Poem

Trolling on Superior
Is so much fun
It’s been on my mind
And I’m ready to run.

My newly up-holstered Cruisers waiting for summer.

My newly up-holstered Cruisers waiting for summer.

My reels are all tuned
Spooled with new line
As I look outside
The weather is fine.

For melting the ice
Still on the lakes
The snow in my driveway
Is all it’ll take.

To get my rods ready
And pull my boat
To launch in the water
And then we’re afloat.

To shores where fish hide
And waiting to feed
On minnows and crawlers
And whatever they need.

They waited all winter
Under the ice
Patiently waiting
For sunshine that’s nice

Pent up in dark waters
Where sun doesn’t shine
With not much to eat
Most of the time.

Can’t wait for fresh trout
This is for sure
It’s been a long time
We’ve had to endure.

So pick up your phone
And give me a call
Let’s do a charter
And we’ll have a ball.
