With a couple of windy days in a row keeping me off Lake Superior, I’m sitting here singing That Old Enemy Wind song “…it really makes it tough, when the lake is so rough…”
Canceled one of the afternoon fishing/sightseeing trip to Manitou Island, 2.5 miles off the Keweenaw Peninsula and did a short stint on Lac La Belle in the evening with little 5 year old Sam and dad the Bobcat builder/welder, Cory. Caught lots of Rock Bass for her and dad didn’t do so well.
Since last post, we had a 16-fish-day at Stannard Rock where the fish were still deep and we caught a record small-size Lake Trout at 11 inches! Did a combo trolling and jigging, and caught most on the troll. Also had several on inland lake and a rainy weather cancellation.
Now, if the weather cooperates, I’ll be on the water most of the time, with July kicking in and double charter days. Hope to get into some salmon soon to add the the lake trout catches.
If you want to catch fish on one of my two boats, don’t delay as the summer is booking up fast, with 3 more booked this morning.
