There are a lot of outdoor related trade shows coming up that everyone should know about:

1. This weekend at the Novi Suburban Collection showplace is the Ultimate Fishing Show, Detroit. Here is a link for details: http://showspan.com/UFD/Home.aspx We plan to attend and we are looking for other guys that may be interested in sharing transportation and rooming costs so let me know soon if you want to go.

Also, in Chicago there is a Boat, Sport and RV show at the McCormick Place: http://www.chicagoboatshow.com/

2. Next month at Cobo Hall in Detroit is the big 55th annual Detroit Boat Show: http://detroitboatshow.net/ My brother Mitch and I are looking for other guys to join us for this one too. It goes through 2 weekends, but we are not sure when we will go yet.

3. In March is the Grand Rapids Ultimate Outdoor show (http://showspan.com/USG/Home.aspx)that I usually attend, but I will be in Minneapolis that weekend with a booth to promote Charter fishing (http://www.northwestsportshow.com/)

All of these are great places to find fishing equipment for trolling the Great Lakes and the best boats, rods, reels and tackle to land the biggest lake trout, salmon or steel head that you can dream up. There are also a lot of seminars related to boating and fishing, whether you are interested in walleye, pike, or muskellunge or pan fish like crappie, blue gills or perch.

More specifically, the Detroit Boat show will have all of the boats you can imagine, plus the electronics, dock equipment, safety gear and even food for your adventure on the water. Looking for a lifeboat in a bag, automatic fire extinguishers or the best batteries for your boat? They can be found at this trade show. Check out the details at the links above and plan to attend!

This weekend at the Novi sport show I will be looking for some ice fishing gear, like a new tent and heater.  Hopefully we get some colder weather soon so the ice forms up in Copper Harbor so we can go after some Splake trout.
