Deep Sea Trolling for Lake Trout in Bete Grise

Spent all day on the water yesterday. The morning was enjoyed by my crew, a nice man and his new wife along with her mother from the East Coast. They managed to sqeeze the day in their schedule even though they only had a short stay here for a wedding. The mother did not fish much, but she enjoyed the day as much or more than anyone as she watched fish being caught and visited with me and the crew and was lulled to sleep by the rocking of the boat.
Fish were mostly caught below 160 feet deep, although one was on a shallower hump. We caught one Coho from 40 feet below the surface and 5 lakers down deep, all on spoons. Lost a few due to in-experience, but still ended up with a good catch.
The afternoon was spent with bro-in-law Erik and sons, Matt and Hans. While Hans slept most of the time, Matt reeled in all the fish, in spite of the rainy weather.
My, how time flies when fishing, must be having fun! Anyone want fish to eat, let me know and I’ll see if I can get it to you.
