A while ago, I did a video on a dypsy diver, which is a device I use pretty extensively to fish for Chinook salmon. coho salmon, steelhead and lake trout. It’s a device that gets your lure down deep in the water column when fishing in water deeper than about 30 feet. Of course it can be used for less than 30 foot deep water, but there are other methods that I think are better choices at shallower depths.
There are many different sizes depending on how deep you want to fish and each diver comes with a chart to give you an approximation of how deep you will be with a specified length of line. I won’t go into detail here, since there are many blogs, videos and books on the subject, but here is a short video on how I set mine up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1H3wSeuOug.
