We had a great summer in 2009 at Lac La Belle in spite of the less than ideal Copper Country weather. Most people said the weather was lousy and I suppose it was, but we hardly noticed, except for a few days that were too rough to get out to our hot spot. We fished more than usual and caught more fish than any other summer. Spent 7 days on Lake Michigan fishing out of Manistique and Winthrop Harbor fishing for kings and coho, a couple days on Schlatters Lake for pike, one day in Northern Mn and most of the rest on Lake Superior fishing. Our best fishing for lake trout was on Bete Grise, but had a few good days fishing on the thermoclines out of Eagle Harbor. Also, be sure to check out my post on fall fishing out of Traverse.
