At the start of my fishing and sightseeing charters, 6 years ago, I put up a United States map and had my clients stick a pin to represent their hometown (or where they were living at the time). I have it on the wall at our lake cottage where most of my fishing outings end. (Many of you reading this have “stuck a pin”, but if you have been trolling on Lake Superior or bass fishing on Lac La Belle with me, and don’t see a pin for your hometown, let me know, I’ll pin it.)

It’s interesting to see at a glance where most of you come from, and even more interesting is seeing that some of you are from other parts of the world. I have one from Russia, Spain, Poland, New Zealand and two girls came from the Philippines.
As you can see, I still need to have representation from 17 more states. My goal is to get at least one person from each state. How long do you think it will take?
Here’s the way I see it: It’s fun to see where everyone is coming from and it’s fun for them to talk about their home area. It provides a good conversation piece. Come to the Copper Country and make it a point to fish with me next summer and stick a pin in my map.
