Trolling for Lake Trout in Bete Grise and fishing in Lac La Belle

The day after the Stannard Rock trip, Calvin and I fished in Lac La Belle for an hour or so. He caught a rock bass, but not too much happening.

Thursday, we fished with the same 3 guys that chartered to Stannard Rock just 2 days before. I thought the fishing was going to be slower than at the “Rock” but we had good action. In fact the first fish was landed just 5 minutes after setting the first line. The 2nd was just a few minutes after that. We snagged and lost one downrigger weight, but I guess that’s how we pay our dues. Fishing was good with white glows at 1.9 mph. Wire dypsies are getting the job done also, so you could get by without spending mega bucks on downriggers if on a tight budget. Our techniques are always getting tweaked to bring in more action!
