Fishing (Simply Fishing and Catching a Few)

Yesterday morning, since the forecast called for a little wind later in the morning, we went directly out to one of my furthest spots with the plan to work out way in later in the morning. We caught 5 lake trout in deeper water after striking out on the shallower spot. All were small, but all nice, clean fish with beautiful meat. Foam Salesman, Chuck landed his fish very professionally, since he has had a lot of fishing experience. Entrepreneur/Manager Ken did just as well, not loosing any fish. We had a few releases that may or may not have been fish, but since many have been smaller, I have been running with a lighter release. The final laker was taken on a downrigger set with a heavy weight rubber band and a Cannon “pincher-type” release and brought in by Ken.

We saw lots of suspended fish, but could not entice a bite with an orange dodger and fly, a pink bait rig behind a dodger or on a small j-plug even though we trolled by them many times.
Many less hardy fishermen would have been sick with the constant tossing and rolling around, but both guys held their own and had a good time on the water. Had a few sprinkles too, which did not seem to dampen any spirits aboard the Fishin Mission.

Afterword, fisherman Chuck treated my first mate Andy and I to a great lunch at the Bare Belly Restaurant. I had a very tasty grilled chicken sandwich that I would highly recommend to anyone who has the opportunity to eat there.
