Thursday me and my boys went to the Manitou Island area to try the scum line after fishing on the south side of the island. Had good success on the south, with 4 nice lake trout, but even though we found the scum line did not find the fish in the 40 minutes we fished it. The kids were ansy to get going to Keystone Bay to swim. At Keystone, I tested lures and herring dodgers and found some dodgers that did not have good action and tweaked some spoons to make them work better.
Friday, Calvin and I took out a party of 4 from the Detroit area and had a good day on the water… 13 fish boated and with one being a 12 lb laker and another at 8 lbs. Also took a nice 4 lb steelhead.
